Four Corners Rod and Gun Club
Salem's Premier Shooting Club
TEMPORARY RANGE RULES
OPENING OF SHORT RANGE & ARCHERY RANGE
Club Days & Hours of Operation
Thursday – Sunday
Noon – 7:00pm (or until the range lights are activated)
Ranges Open (with listed limitations):
Lower Range, Short Range and Archery Range (Indoor range remains closed)
Volunteer Range Safety Officers (RSO’s) will be present during club operating hours to assist with protocols and sanitation needs.
General Range Rules Modifications
· Everyone must maintain a minimum distance of no less than six (6) feet from other persons.
· Only one person per bench / shooting position
· Targets will be changed on the half-hour. (Archery range excluded)
· You may shoot as long as you like if there is no line but please rotate out at the target change if there are others waiting to shoot.
· Guests must be family members from the same household
· Recommend brining your own personal covering (i.e. blanket, towel) for the benches / firing positions (carpet has been removed for sanitation purposes)
· Please limit your use of the bathrooms in order to reduce the need for sanitization of them.
· Other safety precautions may be required as needs arise. Please follow the instructions of the Club volunteers and RSOs.
The lower range has been returned to normal operations with the traditional range rules (with the noted exceptions above). There are no longer firing points for short range pistol use. RSO’s will still be present to sanitize and monitor the range. Targets will still be changes on the half hour.
The short range will have limited and marked firing points in order for the club to remain compliant. There are two positions at 10 yard area and three positions at 25 yard sections. The 50 yard range is open, and firing is only permitted where an X is marked on the floor with blue tape. The two shooting benches are open, and shooters must stay more than 6 feet apart. It is very important that all markings be obeyed if the short range is to remain in use. RSO will be present at this range as well and will sanitize the shooting positions between members.
The archery range will be open as usual with members using 6 feet of social distancing. RSO will sanitize the area after use.
Anyone failing or refusing to comply with the conditions of use will be directed to leave and denied entrance to Club grounds until the Club has fully reopened. Be advised we have modified the facility somewhat in order to accomplish two legal requirements for resuming operations: 1) ensuring compliance with social distancing; and 2) sanitization of each firing station between shooters. Please also bring your own Personal Protection Equipment [PPE]. Be sure to take these things with you when you leave.
Open shooting, low key events weekly, and fun for everyone
Four Corners Rod & Gun Club is a membership based range. Many of our events are open to the public for a small fee. Click on the membership tab or button above for more information.
A Place to Shoot
Have access to a private range nearly every day of the year. Numerous events are open to public each month. Check out the CALENDAR page for upcoming shoots.
Something for Everyone
From an indoor 50 foot range for rimfire .22 out to 200 yards, Four Corners has something for everyone. Fun shoots each week are a great place to practice and meet other shooters. We have an active youth program and special events for women as well.
With rules that emphasize safety, we want everyone to have a fun and safe experience at the club. New member's orientation helps shooters start off right.

Major Improvements to the Lower Range in the Works
With better weather beginning to arrive, club volunteers have been busy working around the new sight in building. This week 7 yards of concrete was poured for the sidewalk area. Special thanks to
Mike Lulay, Dusty Freeman, Bruce Reynolds, Tim Taylor, Ron Sohn, Art Provlx, Jack Woods and Bob Chambers for all their hard work.
We've reloaded the website!
Welcome if you arrived here from our "old" www.fourcornersgunclub.com domain. Both the old and the new (www.fcgc.info) are now this website. If you are new to the site please look around. Once the club is back up and running as usual there will be an active Google calendar (accessible now) along with PDF and MS Word versions to download as usual. Contacts and emails are all live.

PREVIOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS REGARDING RANGE STATUS
First, the Joyous News!
The Executive Committee is pleased to announce that the Lower Range will re-open on a limited basis beginning April 30, 2020, for members and associate members only [no guests]. We will be open Thursday thru Sunday to start and hours of operation will be from 12 noon until 7 p.m. [or until the red lights come on], depending upon the availability of volunteers.
We have two 10-yard positions, one 25-yard firing station, up to ten benches for 50 yards or 100 yards, and two firing points on the 200-yard line. Unfortunately, the Indoor Range, Archery Range, and the Short Range will remain closed at this time.
Our continued operations, however, are subject to certain conditions such as having sufficient volunteers available to man the range, as discussed below. In addition:
a. Only one person per bench.
b. Targets will be changed on the half-hour.
c. You may shoot as long as you like if there is no line but please rotate out at the target change if there are others waiting to shoot.
d. You must maintain a minimum distance of no less than six (6) feet between you and other persons.
e. Note: no guests are permitted.
f. Please limit your use of the bathrooms in order to reduce the need for sanitization of them.
g. Other safety precautions may be required as needs arise. Please follow the instructions of the Club volunteers and RSOs.
The surfaces of the shooting benches, for example, are now painted concrete. As a result, you should bring your own shooting pad or blanket as well as any sort of shooting rest. Please also bring your own Personal Protection Equipment [PPE]. Be sure to take these things with you when you leave.
Now, a Call for Volunteers!
We need your help to help the Club stay open, in that we must have volunteers available to oversee social distancing and sanitizing firing stations between shooters. If you are interested in serving and have been a member for two or more years, please contact Club Secretary Richard Noble at (503) 991-6197.
In addition, we are always accepting donations of disinfectant items such as alcohol (preferably ethyl alcohol), sanitizing wipes or sprays, hand sanitizers, and PPE for volunteers (especially protective gloves).
Four Corners Rod & Gun Club
The Executive Committee met on Monday, April 13, at which time it was concluded that all ranges will remain closed for the time being. However, we are working diligently on taking prudent steps that may enable us to safely open portions of the Lower Range; and we are doing so as quickly as we can. We believe these actions likely will conform to the requirements of the Governor’s Executive Order as well as satisfy other safety concerns. Stay tuned for more news.
Thanks for your patience and understanding.

These are extraordinary circumstances in which we each must do our part to ensure the health and safety of ourselves, our families, and the community at large. Please stay home and stay well.
