Top Shot 2021

Return of a Multisport Shooting Event
July 31, 2021
Sometime back in the 80's when hair was big and Miami Vice was playing on our (non-big screen) TV's, the club had a shooting decathlon of sorts. Thanks to Neil D. and the help of others, the Top Shot returned in 2021. 13 shooters rotated through several stations including .22 rimfire rifle and pistol, centerfire pistol at 10 and 25 yards, rifles (or PCC's) on steel plates at 50 yards, rifles on paper at 100 yards, shotgun, archery targets at 10 and 20 yards and the game changer, a casting pond at five different distances.
Scoring was simple, you either hit the target or you missed. Stations were worth 10 points, sometimes divided by distances (e.g. archery at 10 and 20 yards). Some stations proved more challenging than others, like the casting pond (fish were very safe on Saturday!) and archery. Although some shot perfect scores with the bows. It was a great return for an event that hopefully will become an annual feature at the club. Special credit to George who was wearing the T-Shirt he received at the shoot in the 80! (Too bad the Don Johnson jacket and Bren 10 didn't survive the 80's!!!)

1st Place Ladies Leslie H.

Overall:
